The Concrete Guy LLC was founded in 2016 by Austin Bowlin. As a 4th generation concrete contractor and a lifelong Oregon local, Austin grew up in the Willamette Valley. Working in the concrete and excavation industry with his dad and family for years acquiring all the knowledge needed to launch his own company. Our team understands the needs and requirements for ensuring your project is done right and built to last. Frequently asked questions
Can you pour concrete year round?
Yes! We can complete concrete projects year round weather permitting. To ensure a quality job we do not pour concrete in extreme heat, extreme cold or raining conditions.
How long do I have to wait until I can walk on or drive on new concrete?
We recommend that our customers wait 2 full days before walking on newly installed concrete. We recommend waiting 7-10 days before driving on new concrete depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
Will I need a permit?
Most concrete projects such as concrete floors, pads, driveways and sidewalks around your home do not require a permit. If you’re planning on building a structure on the new concrete, replacing city sidewalk and driveway approach or a retaining wall taller than 4’ then yes you will most likely need a permit. It is the clients responsibility to obtain any permits if necessary.
Is steel reinforcement necessary?
Rebar Reinforcements in concrete is not required for all projects but it is highly recommended to ensure a long lasting, durable concrete job.
How often should I seal my concrete?
Sealing new concrete is an important step in extending the life and new look of your concrete, not only does it protect the surface of your concrete but it helps with the overall curing process as well. We recommend re-sealing your concrete every 3-5 years.
